Connecting the Monitor
Connector pins
Pins on VGA Cable
When making your cable, the first thing to do is to identify the pins on the connector. If you look closely at the pins you will see tiny number next to the pins. These are the number of each of the wires in the connector. Cut one of the ends off of the cable. If you have hoods that can be removed, then you can identify the wires that connect to each pin. If you have molded cables, then you need to identify the wires by another method.

One way to do this is to use a continuity tester or just use a small 5 or 12 volt DC light. Hook one end of the light to a wire on the cable. Hook the ground from an appropriate power source to the other end of the light. Then put a wire on the pos end of the power source. You can then use this wire as a testing lead on each pin. when the light lights up, you then know which pins that wire is attached to. Do this to identify wires 1,2,3,5,13,14 in your cable.

Depending on how the connection on you monitor is, you must now make a connector that can connect to you monitor. I still had the original wiring harness so I just cut off the ends and spliced the wires. You may be able to buy or get MOLEX connectors that will work with your monitor.

Here is how the wires connect on MY monitor. Yours may be very different. There are 2 pin connectors on the monitor main board. Looking at the back of the monitor, the front most pin connector is a 6 pin connector. They are... from RIGHT to LEFT red, green, blue, gound, POS. V-sync and POS. H-sync. The 3 pin connector is from RIGHT to LEFT - 1st pin is not used. 2nd is NEG. V-sync and last is NEG. H-sync. You only use the positive OR the negative sync connectors. I used the negative ones because that was how the original game was connected. IF you monitor has only one sync connection you will have to twist the 2 sync wires together and connect then to the 1 pin on the monitor.

Adjustment Disk
After you get the correct signal going to you monitor, its a sure bet you will have to adjust the monitor. These little disk thingies will adjust things like vertical hold, vertical linierity, vertical height, horizontal hold, and horizontal frequency. the can be adjusted by turning the little tab inside. There are also tabs for horizontal and vertical centering. These can be adjusted by moving a wire to one of 3 positions. Adjust all of these to get your picture looking great. Color levels
Color adjustments
There will also be knobs or something to adjust color levels. Usually one for each of red, green, and blue. These are usually on the PCB that is attached to the neck of the monitor at the rear. There will also be adjustments for overall brightness (intensity) and sharpness (focus).
